Run for The Fallen
Today, a group called Run for The Fallen, came through Fredericksburg. This group started running on June 15, 2008 in MCLB Barstow, CA, and have run over 4,000 miles since then - one mile for a different American serviceman killed in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Today, Maddy, Reagan & I were able to join them for 4 of those miles. I ran 1 mile with them & Maddy and Reagan were in the stroller. Each mile ran was marked with an American flag and a picture/card of the soldier for that mile. A few of those soldiers were classmates and friend's of Matt's at VMI. This run ends on August 24th with a 10k ending at the Arlington National Cemetary in Arlington, VA. Anyone can run right where you are on that day in honor of someone. Visit the website for more information. http://www.runforthefallen.org/ Below are pictures/videos. Here is another link with their account of running through Fredericksburg. http://blog.runforthefallen.org/2008/08/21/august-21-quantico-va/
